Electronics Systems and Robotics Department

Department personnel use computational electromagnetic (CEM) to test designs in areas such as:
  • Magnetostatics (e.g., magnet design and magnetic resonance)
  • Magneto-quasi-statics (e.g., AC induction fields)
  • Antennas

Our Staff utilizes multiple tools, including commercial software as well as design software as well as cutting edge technology when applying CEM. These tools incorporate a variety of methods, primarily:

  • Method of Moments
  • Finite-Element Method
  • Finite-Difference Time-Domain Method
  • Hybrid Methods, Including UTD and PO
  • RFID and MU chipsets and methods for supply chain and asset tracking

The Electronics Systems and Robotics Department develops advanced concepts and methodology in a wide range of technical areas. Theoretical studies, numerical modeling, and simulations are performed,  techniques and prototype instruments are developed and demonstrated in realistic field studies.
